Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

MangaGloss is operated by GEOHOST LLC, a company registered in New Mexico, USA. We provide a manga/manhwa/manhua translation tool -- not a content hosting platform.

2. What We Collect

Anonymous users (no account)

• Browser fingerprint hash: A one-way hash used solely to enforce the free weekly quota. We cannot reverse this to identify you.
• Uploaded images: Temporarily stored for processing and automatically deleted within 24 hours.

Registered users

• Email address: Used for magic-link authentication and important account notifications.
• Usage data: Page counts, job history (metadata only -- not the images themselves).
• Glossary data: Term/translation pairs you create. Stored until you delete them.
• Payment information: Processed entirely by Paddle (our merchant of record). We never see or store your credit card number.

3. Uploaded Images -- 24-Hour Auto-Delete

All uploaded images and generated outputs (translated pages, inpainted images) are stored in Cloudflare R2 with a 24-hour lifecycle rule. After 24 hours, they are permanently and automatically deleted. We maintain no backups, caches, or archives of your image content.

4. No Training on Your Content

We do not use your uploaded images, OCR results, or translation outputs to train, fine-tune, or improve any machine learning models. Your content is processed by our pipeline and then deleted.

5. How We Use Your Data

• To provide the translation service (OCR, translation, inpainting, typesetting).
• To enforce usage limits (free quota tracking via fingerprint hash).
• To process payments and manage subscriptions (via Paddle).
• To send transactional emails (magic links, payment receipts).
• To improve the Service (aggregate, anonymized usage statistics only).

6. Third-Party Services

• Cloudflare: Hosting, CDN, and R2 object storage (image processing).
• RunPod: GPU compute for OCR and translation processing. Images are sent for processing and not retained.
• OpenRouter: LLM API for translation. Text (not images) is sent for translation.
• Paddle: Payment processing (merchant of record). See paddle.com/legal/privacy for their privacy policy.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

We use a session cookie for authentication (logged-in users only). We use local storage for the browser fingerprint hash. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Data Retention

• Images: Deleted automatically within 24 hours.
• Account data: Retained until you delete your account.
• Payment records: Retained as required by tax/legal obligations (typically 7 years).
• Anonymous fingerprints: Quota counters reset weekly; fingerprint hashes are not linked to any personal data.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@mangagloss.com. We will respond within 30 days.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when this policy was last revised.
